JetBrains s.r.o. (formerly IntelliJ Software s.r.o.) is a global1 software development private limited company which makes tools for programmers (software developers) and project managers.23 The company has its headquarters in Amsterdam, and has offices in China, Europe, and the United States.4

JetBrains offers a variety of integrated development environments (IDEs), such as IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Rider, WebStorm and CLion. It also created the Kotlin programming language in 2011, which can run on a Java virtual machine (JVM).5

InfoWorld magazine awarded the firm “Technology of the Year Award” in 2011 and 2015.67
