|↑| Records | Directory flags

A curly-bracketed folder in the directory structure creates a flag which communicates something unique about its contents.

Those flags are:

  • {cross}:
  • {muted}: These sets are partially hidden from a parent set: they signal to its floating version instead.
  • {warp}: A domain transition follows.
  • {nonhooking}: For the (A) resolving zone, breaks the otherwise consistent pattern of the set taking a hook. At present, this only happens with human-language vocabulary.
  • {predefined}: Predefined sets follow.
  • {mutant}: Mutant sets follow.
  • {semicolon}: Of a mutant set, utilizes the freeform semicolon rather than one of the marks with a given meaning.
  • {chimera}: Of a mutant set, draws from an invented set rather than a predefined set.
  • {of}: X of Y sets follow, a mild permutation of grouping/imitation sets.
  • {inner}:
  • {outer}:
  • {travelling}:
  • {artificial}:
  • {leading}:
  • {joint}:
  • {aliased}: Uniquely, contained files have a modified template with a YAML header giving title and alias fields. Used only with illegal characters in filenames, which substitute a visual lookalike in the filename and correct to the true character in those fields.
  • For entries:
    • {machined}: Created by the definitions routine.
    • {polished}: Created by the definitions routine with some hand touch-ups.
    • {hand}: Created by hand.
    • {bronze}: A quality flag for machined entries. The first working version of the definitions routine.
    • {greater}:
    • {lesser}:
    • {echoed}:

They’re also used for freegrouping:

  • {architecture}: Groups architectural sets in Computer/(A).
  • {self}: In the Floating or Standing trunk, bundles together files living at base level. Preserves clean, easy access to subfolders.
  • {software}: Groups software sets in Computer/(A), because there are so many.
  • {grouped}: For human language, separates word grouping sets from A~Z sets.
